AMERICAN LARCH (TAMARACK), Larix laricina – A unique species, American larch is a “deciduous conifer”, meaning that it looses all of its needles each fall. The bluish-green needles of the growing season will turn into bright yellow-orange foliage in the fall before dropping. Grows best in wet sites with full sun. Wood is hard, heavy, durable and strong. Seedling height: 6-10 inches. Mature height: 40-80 feet.
