Description
BALSAM FIR, Abies balsamea – The original, old-fashioned Christmas tree. Extremely fragrant, steeple-shaped tree. Flat-green to blue-green in color with soft needles up to 1 inch long. This evergreen is also great for hedgerows or vegetative screens, as well as landscape use. The earliest bud breaking of the fir species. Prefers moist, well-drained soils; avoid planting in low areas to prevent frost damage. Seedling height: 5-10 inches. Mature height: 50-75 feet. Maximum of 100 seedlings per customer.
