Red Maple, Acer rubrum – A common shade tree with red buds, twigs and flowers. Popular for its vivid red autumn color. It is well adapted to a variety of sites, including wet areas. Also known as soft or swamp maple. Seedling height: 5-10 inches. Mature tree height: 60-80 feet.
