WINTERBERRY HOLLY, COMMON, Ilex verticillata – Commonly found in swamps and along field edges. Iconic bright orange or red berries formed by early autumn, persisting into winter. Fruit used by many species of songbirds, waterfowl, upland game birds and small mammals. Popular for holiday season decoration. Species is dioecious, meaning that each plant is either male or female. Mature height: to 15 feet. Winterberry is toxic to people, dogs, cats and horses. Maximum of 100 seedlings per customer.
