Description
DOGWOOD, SILKY, Cornus amomum – Soil/site: moist. Uses: planted for hedgerows, windbreaks and for stream bank erosion control. Tolerates partial shade. Fruit: August-September. Wildlife value: bluish fruit eaten by game birds, especially important as a source of food for migrating songbirds; twigs browsed by deer and rabbits. Mature height: 10-12 feet.
