WHITE OAK, Quercus alba – A large, slow-growing tree that does best in southern and central New Hampshire. Prefers full sun on well-drained soils. The wood is used in the construction of whiskey barrels and ship building. The acorns of white oak are favored by wildlife over the acorns of other oak species. Seedling height: 5-10 inches. Mature tree height: 80+ feet. Maximum of 100 seedlings per customer.
