Description
HAZELNUT, AMERICAN, Corylus americana – Soil/site: dry sites, often in thickets. Wildlife value: nuts (also called filberts) ripen in late summer and are preferred by numerous mammals, game birds and some songbirds. Mature height: 5-10 feet.
