Description
FRASER FIR, Abies fraseri – Highly popular Christmas tree species, with medium to dark-green needles with a silvery underside. Fraser shares a similar look and many characteristics of balsam fir, but is slower growing. A later bud break protects these trees from late spring frosts. Excellent needle retention makes these a popular seller for Christmas trees. Prefers moderately well-drained soils on cool sites. Seedling height: 10 inches plus. Mature height: 50-75 feet. Maximum of 1,000 seedlings per customer.
