Description
DOGWOOD, YELLOW OSIER, Cornus sericea – Soil/site: moist. Uses: stream bank erosion control. Fruit: clusters of white berries in July-August. Wildlife values: fruit preferred by many species of songbirds and game birds. Tolerates partial shade. The bright yellow twigs seen in the winter are browsed by deer, moose, rabbits. Mature height: to 12 feet.
